This David Collet. He is President at Guitar Salon International and since twenty years, my official dealer in the USA. He stopped by with his wife after a visit to Germany. I showed them around in Amsterdam and after that we had dinner at Hotel De Goudfazant, one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam.
This is Joan Rigual in Casa Luthier, one of the most beautiful classical and flamenco guitar shops.
Alicia Alcay and Joan Rigual started Casa Luthier in 1979. A tiny shop with student and concert guitars made by the best Spanish builders. I was very honored when, begin nineties, they started selling my guitars as well. In 1997 they moved the shop towards its current location, a large building in the same street. They celebrated the opening with a big party for all the builders they work with. Ten years later they celebrated their jubileum the same way.
Alicia and her husband, the Icelandic guitarist Arnaldur Arnarson are still the owners of the shop. In the mean time Alicia started a music school as well as a dance school. Joan Rigual still manages the shop, together with his employees. Besides guitars you can also find a great collection of sheet music. Sometimes they organize concerts.
Guitarras de Luthier is a guitar shop in Madrid where, according to their website, ‘you can try and compare concert and studio guitars from the best luthiers’. So I am happy that they sell my guitars as well.
In Spain you can find my instruments in two shops. Guitarras de luthier in Madrid and Casa Luthier in Barcelona, about which I will write something next week.
This is the back side of a concert guitar I am working on right now. As soon as I finish it I will send it to Guitar Salon International, my USA dealer and largest dealer of classical and flamenco guitars in the world. I mailed them some pictures of this work in progress and which they put on their blog.
